Our client is currently seeking a Senior IP Network Engineer. The successful candidate will design, implement, and grow the IP/MPLS/Carrier Ethernet network. Maintain capacity and reporting. Perform and document proof of concept and regression testing. Provide technical assistance to Operations groups as required. Develop tools to assist in managing the network.
Develop and publish standards for network configuration, including routing policy, traffic engineering, configuration standards, inter- and intra-POP topology, peering policies, and guidelines for maintenance activities. Generate documentation for new technologies for use by Engineering and Operations. Identify opportunities to optimize traffic distribution and work with Operations to make the required ISIS, BGP, and MPLS changes.
Monitor IP network capacity and create reports to track capacity trends. Develop and maintain a 12-24 month outlook on capacity requirements. Initiate and manage augment projects to completion, including developing costs and justification. Work with Vendors to manage quotes, procurement timelines, and delays. Create and maintain tools to provide visibility to network data and to monitor network capacity, standards adherence, and performance. Create and maintain an equipment inventory with the ability to generate reports. Manage systems and applications that support the IP Technology and Operations teams including rwhois, cacti, ipam. Oversee adherence to network design and configuration standards.
Build and maintain an IP technology lab to serve as the primary test environment for the companys IP/MPLS/Carrier Ethernet network. Perform proof of concept testing for emerging technologies, including new equipment, protocols, and products. Develop and test network configurations, including routing policy, traffic engineering, and inter-device operation. Perform full regression testing for all new hardware and software releases. Develop and test procedures for introducing new technologies. Support Operations in recreating scenarios found in the production IP/MPLS network.
Serve as an escalation point to Operations for technical issues during turn-ups and upgrades. Oversee adherence to network design and configuration standards. Manage peering connections with other networks. Negotiate with peers as to locations and speed of interconnections. IP Engineers are responsible for the planning of circuit and equipment augments concert with the Operations and Engineering teams.
Requirements:
A Bachelors degree in a Engineering, Computer Science or other technical field and/or equivalent work experience is required.
With a total of 4 to 7 years of experience in a service provider environment necessary.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Must have a thorough understanding of BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, and Carrier Ethernet technologies.
Must be familiar with IP routing equipment from Cisco, Juniper, and/or Alcatel-Lucent.
Must be able to diagnose and resolve routing issues, congestion problems, and hardware and software failures.
Experience with any of the following is highly desirable: UNIX systems ( BSD, Solaris, Linux), programming and scripting (C, Perl, SQL), optical transmission systems (Nortel, Lucent, Cisco, LuxN, etc.), electrical and optical circuit test equipment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
