U. S. Steel has an immediate opening for an Application Developer in the IT Organization, or Business Service Center, located in Pittsburgh, PA. The IT Application Developer will provide new development and support for the organizations Warehouse, Shipping and Logistics applications. This would include the Truck Entry Control System (TECS), Master Routing Guide (MRG) and Bulletin system.
KEY
Responsibilities:
Design and develop new interfaces and/or applications needed to support plant warehouse, shipping and logistics systems, as well as future Oracle ERP releases. This would include enhancements to existing plant applications and implementing new plant applications.
Collaborate with the ERP project team and other BSC teams to ensure fully integrated solutions.
Support Continuous Improvement efforts through the U. S. Steel Carnegie Way process. This will include identifying and/or leading and/or participating in Carnegie Way projects for the team.
Working with the Application Analysts to prioritize tasks.
Provide support and guidance to the business super-user during testing activities.
Deliver code that meets all customer requirements for functionality and performance.
Interact with customers to share data/information or provide reporting.
Track and report the status of work items.
Monitor and prioritize service center tickets and error logs.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelors Degree required. Majors preferred are Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent.
Candidates must have a minimum of three years systems / information technology experience performing systems development, testing and defect resolution.
Experience in .Net, PL/SQL, and Oracle Data Base.
Strong understanding of IT application and delivery processes.
Must have excellent time management skills, be able to multi-task and effectively prioritize work.
Must be a self-starter, possess strong oral and written communications skills, be able to articulate ideas, and listen effectively.
Must have an excellent work ethic and be willing to extend the extra effort and time required to meet critical completion time lines.
Candidate is required to meet corporate ethics and professional standards.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Java experience is a plus.
Experience with truck scale interfaces and coding handheld devices is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office environment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
