U. S. Steel has an immediate opening for an Oracle PL/SQL Developer in the IT Organization located in Pittsburgh, PA. The Oracle PL/SQL Developer will provide development and support for the organizations Supply Chain Management systems, specifically the i2/JDA Factory Planner and Factory Planner Supply Chain Management (FP-SCM) applications.
KEY
Responsibilities:
Design and develop new interfaces and/or applications needed to support the i2 JDA and FP-SCM systems, as well as future Oracle ERP releases, utilizing 3rd party software development package Agile Business Process Platform (ABPP) and PL/SQL. This would include enhancements to existing applications, implementing new program interfaces and performing maintenance requests.
Test and debug program changes and prepare necessary documentation for implementation, following the IT procedures for change control.
Closely interface with the business groups and other IT departments to analyze and troubleshoot reported issues.
Monitor the i2/JDA Factory Planner and FP-SCM applications ensuring the systems are functioning properly to support business operations.
Support continuous improvement efforts through the U. S. Steel Carnegie Way process. This will include identifying and/or leading and/or participating in Carnegie Way projects for the team.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelors Degree required. Majors preferred are Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent.
Candidates must have a minimum of three years systems / information technology experience performing systems development, testing and defect resolution using Oracle 10g or higher, SQL and PL/SQL.
Strong understanding of IT application development and delivery processes.
Must have excellent time management skills, be able to multi-task and effectively prioritize work.
Must be a self-starter, possess strong oral and written communications skills, be able to articulate ideas, and listen effectively.
Must have an excellent work ethic and be willing to extend the extra effort and time required to meet critical completion time lines.
Candidate is required to meet corporate ethics and professional standards.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience in XML, Java, TOAD, UNIX-AIX, IBM WebSphere, and Informatica.
Experience with source code control toolsets like Clearcase and Clearquest.
Experience with shell and perl scripting.
Exposure to a scheduling tool such as Tidal or CRON.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office environment.
