U. S. Steel currently has an opening for a Manager of Logistics Operations and Analysis at our headquarters location in Pittsburgh, PA. This key management position will be responsible to ensure on-time delivery parameters are met for outbound domestic truck shipments from U. S. Steel facilities, including interworks, joint ventures, and shipments to outside processor locations. The Manager of Logistics Operations and Analysis will utilize current management tools to evaluate shipping patterns and trends, and will develop additional leading indicators to identify capacity needs.

Responsibilities:
Manage and Evaluate daily priority load and other reports to identify where truck equipment is needed to meet delivery requirements. Communicate and coordinate with Central Truck Dispatch (CTD) to ensure assets are applied to loads with delivery dates.
Analyze weekly tracking tools to determine why loads were missed and coordinate resolution with appropriate cross-functional departments (Plant Business Planning, Processed Products, Commercial, etc.).
Develop Waterfall Tracking Analysis for missed loads and systemically generate weekly graphs and communication across appropriate departments.
Collaborate with Business Planning, Processed Products, Commercial Solutions, Distribution Managers, and CTD to drive transformational and process changes needed to enhance Corporate Customer Delight initiatives.
Develop and cultivate Executive Level contacts at major trucking companies to facilitate Corporate shipping needs.
Create Leading Indicator Tools to identify capacity needs and work with carriers and internal sources to develop solutions for increased capacity.
Direct new Carrier Performance Scorecard development and manage carrier communication and accountability.
Lead Allocation Process change and integrate with CTD.
Develop and lead new methodology to facilitate outbound shipments from processor locations, while minimizing Logistics hands-on involvement with providing truck support.
Participate in Carnegie Way/Continuous Improvement Project Teams to enhance department and corporate initiatives.
Job Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Planning, Business Administration, or other relevant degree.
10 years experience with Logistics, Business Planning, Systems, Procurement, Sales, Customer Service, or other relevant Corporate experience.
Innovative thinker and solutions driven.
Ability to Lead change initiatives and follow-thru to ensure success.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent analytical and organization skills.
Negotiation and process improvement experience.
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure timely completion.
Proficient in MS Office applications and statistical applications, especially Excel, Word, Power Point, and Minitab.
Working knowledge in Oracle, Transportation Management System, and/or forecasting models preferred.
