Analytical Research Chemist - Group Leader, Mass Spectroscopy
The position is for an Analytical Chemist and requires a PhD degree with 5-10 years of experience with mass spectroscopy techniques

Key Responsibilities
As a Group Leader in the Analytical department, you will be responsible for:
Leading a team of chemists responsible for the analysis of coatings and coatings related materials using mass spectroscopy techniques including LC-MS and GC-MS.
Development of mass spectrometry techniques for the analysis of polymeric materials, including Electrospray Ionization-MS, APCI-MS, ASAP and MALDI-ToF.
Maintaining and troubleshooting equipment.
Implementing new test methods and method modifications based on customer needs and advances in the field of mass spectrometry.
Communication of data with research scientists, product development engineers, technicians, and end use customers.

Functional and Technical Skills
The successful candidate will have established expertise in mass spectrometry techniques and their application to the study of polymeric materials. They must maintain current knowledge of innovations in mass spectrometry and lead their implementation. An additional understanding of a broad range of analytical characterization tools is desired.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated problem solver who is able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision. The candidate should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to effectively write reports, give presentations, and participate in or lead discussions to both the global scientific and business communities. Robust communication skills are crucial in a collaborative environment which includes research scientists, chemists, formulators, product development engineers, technicians, and end-use customers.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
