The Business Analyst is responsible to act as a liaison between the Information Technology, Product Management, and Analytics groups and the Business Unit partners. This position represents the business perspective of a system development project. The Business Analyst will work with the Business Units to define business requirements, develop business processes, validate business processes against the system, conduct & provide a holistic view of content health from a data perspective, organize and execute user testing and participate in end-user training. The Business Analyst will become the subject matter expert, from a business perspective, a data perspective, and a system functionality perspective, for his/her defined area of the system(s). The Business Analyst will own the functional requirements and sign off that the initial business requirements are being delivered with the end solution. They will also be responsible for creating and maintaining reporting to identify opportunities and optimize processes within the content team. Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
BUSINESS PROCESS DEVELOPMENT Work with the business sponsor to create realistic business use cases that determine the process that a user will execute when using the new and/or enhanced system Create business process test cases to test the new and/or enhanced system ANALYTICS AND REPORTING Build and maintain reporting across applicable tools/suites Analyze reporting to identify opportunities for category owners Regular cadence and ad hoc reporting needs FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATION DEVELOPMENT Work with the business sponsor to determine business requirements for new and/or enhanced system or reporting requests Create and own functional specifications for new and/or enhanced system or reporting development Hold functional specification review sessions with cross-functional team members (Business sponsors, IT, other Business Analysts, QA engineers, operations, and training group) for review of requirements Require sign off of functional specification(s) from all cross-functional project team members SCOPE CHANGE CONTROL Monitor all issues associated with their area of responsibility Work with business sponsors, other IT function areas and IT management to prioritize issues Work with PMO to determine resources and timing Work with Project Manager to track statuses of issues TRAINING Conduct/Assist in the development of the training material for the end user group Conduct/Assist with hands on training sessions for end user group PROJECT SUPPORT Responsible for creation and maintenance of accurate project status information that is communicated to the business sponsor(s) on regular scheduled intervals User Acceptance Testing Coordinate and execute user acceptance testing sessions Primary contact for production issues escalation Determine actual issue Gather important data necessary for troubleshooting
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Business AnalysisEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
