In this role, you will own your product vertical and guide cross-functional teams to launch and bring a new product to market (0 to 1). We are looking for an innovative Product Leader who will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to take on our toughest business challenges and define compelling solutions for our customers. As a Sr. Product Manager at Oportun, you'll work with some of the brightest UX designers, engineers, senior business leadership teams, and business units while also developing your skills and furthering your career within one of the most inclusive, innovative, and progressive FinTech companies today. Our lending experience is a complete, end-to-end, omni-channel journey where the customer can apply online, over the phone, at one of Oportun's Retail or Partner locations. As we expand to offer our loans through different partnership channels, we need to develop and deliver on a roadmap of capabilities for our partner platform and experience, as well as work with our business teams to ensure we deliver on our business goals. Responsibilities A TYPICAL DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PRODUCT LEADER AT OPORTUN Experienced thought partner and a leader you love working with a talented group of senior business leaders and engineers to create product strategies and roadmaps that align to customer success and business objectives Comfortable navigating through ambiguous problems and problem spaces in pursuit of clarity and concrete outcomes Experienced in breaking apart something very complex and ambiguous into logical, understandable, and sequenced parts of a roadmap and gain buy-in as needed. You are an eager listener and active communicator to under business needs and demonstrate product and thought leadership to provide solution options Love working hands on with the engineering team. You understand how to design requirements that solve the business need while balancing the complexity/resourcing of the technical solution You are data driven, seek out data and customer input to understand challenges. Experienced in establishing OKRs, and measuring performance and impact of our products You have a point-of-view on innovative solutions, and will be a thought partner with our cross-functional teams to drive change and business results Qualifications Experience with loan origination system(s) or BNPL products is a big plus! 7
years of Product Management experience, including product analytics to support data-driven decision making. Experience in the financial services / fin tech industry, including innovative fintech technologies and solutions. Product Management experience in Customer and/or agent-facing products preferred. Willing to be hands-on in the details and to partner directly with stakeholders from the business, legal, and engineering teams. Experience working with business and technology executives from many disciplines (strategy, risk, operations, fraud, technology, business intelligence, finance, training, legal, compliance, cybersecurity) to understand the needs, define features, and prioritize and manage scope to operate in an iterative agile delivery framework. Detail-oriented, willing to work all use cases, customer flows, and edge cases within our team, and with other teams in the customers end-to-end experience. Working knowledge of basic debug tools and query languages to support technical products development and production (SQL, MongoDB, Inspector), with the ability to understand APIs and troubleshoot technical issues. NICE-TO-HAVE Working knowledge of standard lending processes and BNPL products Experience with mobile and native technologies preferred. Bi-lingual language skills (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Banking, Loans & InsuranceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
