Summary:
Responsible for sourcing, procurement, risk reduction, and negotiation of assigned commodities. Identify, select, qualify, and manage suppliers to maximize the net value of the supply chain network. Net value optimizes the balance of risk, cost, quality, delivery, speed, and flexibility. Create, implement, and maintain supply chain strategies which optimize the supply network from the standpoint of net value. Has full accountability for the performance of the supply chain for multiple commodities. Responsible to hire, train, lead, develop, and mentor employees and to maintain a high-performance work team. Lead sourcing, procurement, and negotiation of commodities, materials, and MRO, and for identifying, selecting, qualifying, and managing the supply base. Responsible for on-time delivery, pricing, quality, lead-time, and inventory of direct and indirect purchased materials. Develop requests for information (RFI), requests for proposal (RFP), and requests for quotation (RFQ), as appropriate, to qualify and engage potential suppliers and to clearly define supplier deliverables. Responsible to identify improvement opportunities in the supply chain network, or with internal processes, and to make continuous improvements. Remain current on commodity and economic market conditions and take proactive measures to protect supply and improve net value of the supply chain network. Engage, develop relationships with, and support the design engineering community to support new product development by establishing net value-appropriate supply chains concurrently during the product development cycle. Engage suppliers in the early in the product development process to optimize costs and to incorporate manufacturability into product designs. Administer and distribute the supplier balanced scorecard for assigned commodities. Support supplier quality personnel in remedial supplier actions. Arrange and administer supplier strategic business reviews, supplier visits (internal and external); distribute and manage related minutes/actions that result. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Research, evaluate, and qualify suppliers based on net value, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history. Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices. Interview vendors and visit suppliers' plants and distribution centers to examine and learn about products, services, and prices. Reviewing purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy. Negotiate and administer contracts with suppliers to maximize net value. Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price trends, or futures markets. Drive and execute cost reduction activities. Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures. Review purchase order terms, claims, and contracts to ensure favorable value and conformance to company policy. Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids. Write and review product specifications, maintaining a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased. Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations. years of management or strategic sourcing leadership experience, with a proven record of achievement Project management experience with MS Project a plus Excellent skills in negotiation, communication and analysis Must be resourceful and independent Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings Procurement experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment Ability and willingness to travel ten to twenty percent, including international travel Proficient with Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint Prior experience sourcing/manufacturing/designing molded plastics is preferred.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
ProcurementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
