5 Full-time 1 day ago Full Job Description Description Under the direction of the Director of Facilities and Construction Management, supervises a work force of 15-25 collective bargaining employees and outside contracted maintenance vendors to accomplish Hospital objectives in the area of Facilities operations and maintenance.
This position provides leadership in the area of general operations and maintenance.
This position is responsible for supervising, scheduling and continuously improving the general maintenance operations of the CHP campus consisting of approximately 1.
2 million square feet.
The Operations of CHP Facilities shall include the daily operation and monitoring of building systems and snow removal, routine planned (preventative) maintenance of building systems and shall implement such activities through CHP employed Local 95 collective bargaining employees and/or outside contracted services, and routinely interfaces with all levels of Hospital employees including senior administration and medical staff positions.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate department activities in the area of unplanned repair and maintenance of Hospital systems and structural facilities components in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption of Hospital personnel, patients and visitors.
Provide authorization of all purchase requisitions not exceeding $15,000.
Monitor departmental activities to ensure compliance with Hospital Policies and Procedures.
Provide supervisory control for payroll of exempt, nonexempt, and collective bargaining employees.
Provide expertise in determining best solutions for the repair and maintenance of Hospital Facilities.
Monitor maintenance costs (labor & material) and make recommendations to reduce cost and perform work by the most cost beneficial method.
Responsible for monitoring utility shutdowns for routine maintenance, renovations, or construction modifications.
Ensure that all work is performed by qualified craftsmen with the appropriate licensing and certifications as required by regulatory agencies.
Shall support facility aspects of routine periodic (non construction related) State Department of Health and Safety Inspections and JCAHO inspections.
Provide ongoing safety and educational training programs to collective bargaining positions under the incumbent's supervisory control.
Supervise, direct, and monitor work assignments to ensure efficient and cost effective use of labor resources to operate hospital systems.
Manage, lead, direct, and coordinate all department activities in the area of Facilities General Maintenance and Shift Operations.
