5 Full-time 22 hours ago Full Job Description Description UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full-time Research Tech Basic Science to support the 4125 - 4125 Hyperglycemic Memory on Innate Immune Respons! This position will work full-time hours with flexibility.
Hours are subject to change based on business needs.
This position is grant funded and the grant is set to end 12/31/2028.
Diabetes is a chronic disease impairing host immune response to wounds and implanted medical devices.
Dr.
Liang's lab aims to understand the mechanism accounting for the diabetes-associated negative impact and develop new therapeutics to improve the health outcomes in women with diabetes using multidisciplinary approaches.
Under supervision, responsible for accurately performing research projects according to established study design and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Maintain laboratory inventory, including timely ordering and receipt of required supplies and their proper storage.
Maintain a safe clean laboratory-working environment including appropriate equipment maintenance and usage, by conforming to laboratory and Hospital policies and standards.
Assist in performing research protocol experimental procedures, under close supervision, including appropriate collection, recording, storage and analysis of data.
Prepare, label, store and dispose of reagents and calibrates equipment for research projects.
Assist in obtaining educational resources necessary to perform and interpret research and to remain abreast in research area of function.
Follow appropriate research policies and procedures including all applicable laws and regulations and maintains scientific integrity including accurate data storage.
Responsible for following the mandatory reporting procedures for any incident or serious event that did affect or potentially could have affected the clinical care of any patient.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of college training or one year of experience working within a biomedical research laboratory environment.
Demonstrated ability to handle and process specimens for testing, including preparation of specimens, operation of laboratory equipment, microscopic examination, etc.
Demonstrated ability to accurately collect, store and interpret research data.
