2 Full-time 14 hours ago Full Job Description We're looking for a labor analyst who will report to the Payables Supervisor and will be responsible for oversight of the time submission and approval for SEI's payroll processing.
You will deliver effort reporting and time entry training to new staff members and administer the SEI's relocation practice.
You will build strong collaborative relationships with partners across the SEI, meeting the unique needs of the areas served.
More specifically, you will ensure the completion of assigned transactions in accordance with established standards and identify process improvement opportunities to deliver improved customer services to the organization.
You have strong attention to detail, enjoy problem solving and are eager to help others.
Your communication skills will ensure the SEI is well trained and informed.
Your inquisitive nature will ensure you stay on top of current regulations and have the skills to advise staff on policy related to relocation and time charging.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in finance or related field Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving abilities Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP accounting principles Knowledge of federal time charging requirements and Joint Travel Regulations Experience with enterprise-wide financial systems Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting and discussing interpretive reports What you'll do:
Payroll processing and oversight with a general understanding of contractual and federal regulations surrounding time and effort reporting Monthly processing of reconciliation reporting to ensure all time entered is processed in Oracle and notify the program's financial analyst of any potential problems as soon as they arise Bi-weekly review and follow-up of non-exempt time entry into the CMU Workday system to ensure all effort is entered and approved prior to the deadline.
Function as the expert in the Online Effort Application, managing deadlines for monthly effort submissions as well as CMU holidays.
Create, maintain, and deliver training materials for new and existing staff members related to time entry, effort reporting and relocation services Understand the rules associated with various types of Leave's of Absence and review Oracle entries for accuracy, processing any necessary journal entries.
Function as a proxy for any employee who is on a leave of absence and work the employee upon their return to ensure the information entered was complete and accurate.
Administer the communication device allowance at the SEI, which includes understanding the campus policy, reviewing requests for accuracy, and working with HR to ensure approved allowances are entered into the CMU Workday system with the appropriate charging guidance included.
Primary point of contact for the SEI's Relocation Standard Practice, with a thorough understanding of the federal regulations associated with both relocation and long term TDY.

Experience:
Bachelor's degree 3-5 years' experience in a payroll or finance field Prior experience in higher education and/or federal contracting is strongly preferred CMU's COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
