Maintenance Technicians are to maintain the general upkeep of the building and its infrastructure.
Their role is to maintain building operations and ensure that the facilities are always safe and functional.
Maintenance Technicians can manage technical repairs like aesthetic maintenance like applying new coats of paint, drywall repair, lighting, general electrical, plumbing, etc.
They perform routine, preventative and emergency maintenance repairs to prevent and resolve safety or comfort issues.
Maintenance technicians install new equipment and building upgrades according to requests and to preserve the facility.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance and repairs to maintain the upkeep of our agency's facilities' structures in accordance to all regulatory codes and contract regulations.
Perform electrical, plumbing, painting, plaster/drywall, carpentry, landscaping, appliance repairs, flooring, and mechanical work.
On call duties may be required.
Must be able to work with limited supervision, read and complete work orders, complete daily work logs, and use the computer to check emails and other related computer work.
Must have the knowledge and the ability to use all materials needed to complete daily tasks or projects.
Repair methods, maintenance practice of structures, furnishings, equipment, and work safety practices.
Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent and 3
years of experience in general maintenance and repair work.
The ability to assess the maintenance needs of several different facilities, equipment, and the capability to take corrective action is required.
Overall general knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC and landscaping.
Maintenance Technicians must be able to do a variety of these skill areas hands-on, along with the ability to plan for the work with the proper tools and materials.
They should be flexible and organized along with the ability to follow directions for assignments, installation, and repairs.
Maintenance Technicians will need to communicate in many fashions most importantly though our maintenance control system.
Working Conditions:
This position works in a commercial, residential and office setting on an as needed basis and must be able to travel to all locations with the use of Agency owned vehicles.
Exposure to clients with substance abuse, mental illness, and communicable disease is highly likely.
Most duties in this class are performed under periodically disagreeable working conditions including working outside at times in inclement weather and exposed to water, dust, dirt, grease, paint fumes, chemicals, equipment noise and vibrations.
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
maximum (with mechanical or human assistance) with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Position involves pushing, pulling, and reaching and long periods (6-8 hours) of walking and standing.
Schedule may require working days, evenings, and weekends as well as to be available for on- call status.
