Research Assistant Professor - Stephenson Lab

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a Research Assistant Professor in eco-evo-epidemiology, to begin 1 September 2023.
Applicants must have a background in mathematical ecology, epidemiology, and evolutionary biology, with a Ph.
D.
in biology or applicable field.
The successful candidate will work with members of the Stephenson laboratory to use experiments and mathematical modeling to understand the eco-evolutionary interactions between hosts and their parasites.
Minimum requirements include abilities to design and analyze epidemiological models, tp manage diverse groups of people, and to design and run large-scale experiments in disease ecology.
Preferred qualifications include demonstrated interest and ability to use a combination of mathematical modeling and multiple different data types to understand the ecological and evolutionary interactions between hosts and parasites, to work with fish in research, to fit stochastic models to data, to track and identify individual animals from behavioral videos, and to obtain independent funding at multiple career stages.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
