Senior Business Banking Underwriter

Job Overview:
Primarily responsible for analyzing and preparing credit proposals for new and existing Business Banking lending relationships.
This individual will collaborate with the Business Banking Lending Representatives and Administrators regarding underwriting issues, specifically for business banking clients.
The job function will also include the monitoring of Borrowers financial performance with outstanding credits and modifications to existing credit facilities.
In addition, the Senior Business Banking Underwriter will complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business, preferably accounting or finance required.
Will consider commensurate experience Minimum 3 years work experience in financial analysis or underwriting of commercial loans and exhibits competency in various aspects of commercial underwriting or analysis Strong analytical and underwriting skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong organizational and problem solving skills Ability to self-start and work independently Possess strong judgment and decision-making skills Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, independently and achieve required objectives with limited supervision Ability to work within a team environment, interacting with peers and management within the bank, Business Banking lenders, Business Banking Administrators, as well as, with customers and outside support Knowledge of MS Suite of Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook) as well as minimum of 1 year experience utilizing Moodys Lending Cloud or similar tools a plus Principal Activities and Duties:
Perform underwriting of new and existing Business Banking loans to assess the financial condition, repayment capacity, and risks associated with the transaction.
To include analysis of business cash flow, personal cash flow, and personal financial statements Provide an independent analysis of credit quality for the most complex business banking loan relationships at the bank to determine borrowers financial condition and ability to repay Capable of evaluating complex financial statements and analyze in order to prepare a credit review Make recommendations in accordance with sound banking practices in order to minimize risk exposure Ensure commercial loan requests adhere to bank policies and procedures, as well as banking regulations Be knowledgeable on all Banking Regulations such as Reg B, Reg Z, Reg O, Appraisal Guidelines, SBA, etc.
Effectively communicate and partner with the Business Banking Lenders to assist with monitoring of the loan portfolio May participate in off-site and on-site client meetings as required Prepare loan presentations accurately and in a timely manner Some contact with customers, conducting relationships in a professional manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the bank Mentor and assist in training of less experienced Business Banking underwriters.
Perform additional assignments as requested Recommended Skills Accounting Analytical Communication Decision Making Finance Financial Analysis Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
