Do you enjoy investigating and using your inquisitive nature to locate customers? If so, this role is for you.
The purpose of the position is to collect on consumer loans and credit cards which have been charged off.
You will work closely with outside vendors such as law firms and collection agencies to locate debtors, identify assets, and recommend accounts for specific legal action, while maintaining compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
The successful candidate will work a schedule that includes one evening until 7:
00 PM; other hours will be Monday through Friday 8:
15 AM to 4:
30 PM.
You will have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule after successfully completing training.
Principal Activities and Duties:
Collect on a broad range of charged-off accounts via phone calls and litigation.
Maintain follow-up and documentation of accounts.
Counsel customers to establish repayment plans.
Utilize skip-tracing techniques including telephone calls and online searches.
Search for debtor assets and recommends judgment execution where appropriate.
Prepare accounts for litigation, foreclosure or bankruptcy proof-of-claim filings.
Perform related administrative duties necessary to service and/or collect the account.
Qualifications:
Good organization, communication, customer service and phone skills essential.
Knowledge of collection laws and skip tracing techniques, both online and via telephone.
Knowledge of asset search techniques and legal process of obtaining and executing on judgments.
Minimum 1 year experience in collections, preferably in a recovery position.
Prior collection experience at a bank, finance company, or law firm preferred.
High School Diploma/GED required.
Some college preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
