Energy Storage Engineer Energy Storage Engineer Description We are seeking an Energy Storage Engineer to help grow our Engineering Team with the primary focus on ESS System Integration and EPC solutions involving HICO offered equipment.
You will support the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) proposal development, project design, and execution.
This includes analysis of generation and storage energy profiles, evaluating the cost and benefits of BESS, life cycle estimation, equipment and vendor selection analysis, engineering, and technical aspects for the design of a BESS and related equipment to ensure quality, reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
Provide technical vendor reviews and qualifications Develop a detailed understanding of various incentives and market drivers for each state and grid operator Understand various battery technologies and industry practices to provide guidance to the organization on the application of technology Evaluate available and emerging storage technologies and communicate new technology development and risks associated with the new technology Support internal response to RFPs/RFQs regarding plant integrator, equipment, and technology selection Work with Sales team in the preparation and coordination of proposals, proposal materials, and other marketing efforts in support of the market segment Establish and maintain the engineering, design criteria and applicable standards and specifications for BESS projects Develop, review, and oversee all engineering and design of energy storage projects Review/approve the work of consultants used on BESS projects to ensure consistent and cost-effective designs and timely delivery Maintain continuous interface with vendor's technical personnel and perform technical bid evaluation to ensure compliance to specifications Support Development to assure timely and cost-effective resolution to regulatory, permitting, and technical issues associated with the execution and delivery of BESS projects Energy Storage Engineer Qualifications Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's degree is a plus) Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent software Technical background with electrical power systems preferred Ability to learn quickly Ability to travel if required (limited travel) Recommended Skills Auto Cad Curiosity Reliability Sales Supplier Evaluation Systems Integration Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
