Job Description SummaryThe scope of this internship will focus on active involvement in research, data analysis, and project management to influence business outcomes in the Personal Lines Claims organization while learning about the broader Claims function and corresponding skill sets.
Assists in collaborative efforts with corporate and business partners to create requirements for either the development of new or changes to existing claims processes and workflows.
We're looking for Personal Lines Claims Interns, location variable, with remote work options available.
Some travel will be necessary for the Capstone project (under 2 week).
Internship Roles/
Responsibilities:
Learn and engage in data analysis and data-related projects.
Effectively interpret, manipulate, and use data to drive recommendations and/or to make a compelling case for change.
Provides input to project teams.
Conducts research as part of process to build requirements for the development of new/or enhancements to existing technologies, claims processes, and workflows.
Strong communication skills preferred as will meets with stakeholders to gather information.
Assists in creating process flow diagrams, communications, presentations, and decision documents for processes and projects as needed.
Under guidance, works with customers and project teams to develop business cases and comprehensive project plans to identify, quantify, and deliver process design efforts in support of business objectives.
Complete a capstone project:
Identify an opportunity area within the Claims function, develop a solution to address the opportunity and present the proposal to Personal Lines Claims leadership team for consideration.
Skills/Qualifications DesiredEducation:
Undergraduate studies in business administration, computer science, mathematics or related field.
Completion of sophomore or junior year is preferred.
Involvement in student activities and/or some work experience.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of internet technologies such as Microsoft Windows programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Must have a understanding of project management, data processing, and customer service concepts and practices.
Competencies:
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to multitask and deal with ambiguity.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Must have strong oral and written communication skills in order to interact with all levels of personnel.

pdf Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment.
The national hourly pay range for Nationwide Internships is:
$21 - $35 Recommended Skills Business Administration Business Planning Communication Conflict Resolution Customer Service Data Analysis Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
