Desktop Support Intern

JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Desktop Support intern position is to provide first level technical support to back office users. First level technical support may include, but not be limited to, the following:
cloning workstations, installing workstations in the back office, racking hardware, moving computer equipment, performing routine hardware and software upgrades, and first level troubleshooting.PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES / OBJECTIVES:
Install and configure PCs for use in the back office. Assist with the installation of hardware in the back office. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software problems. Provide high level technical support for back office desktops. Perform routine hardware and software upgrades.
Qualifications:
Completion of 1 year of technical school to include classes in Windows operating systems, PC repair, and networking. A working knowledge of Ethernet and TCP/IP. A strong commitment to customer service. Occasional availability to work after hours and weekends. Occasional overtime may be necessary to accomplish group goals. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
