Position Description
The Quality Assurance Manager will join an Agile Scrum development team that is developing products for the MIDAS research network and public health agencies.
The software development team has been developing production-quality software including Web services, end-user applications, and epidemic models for the past decade. Former members have been hired by Amazon, Yahoo and formed a successful startup company. For more information visit .
The software development team works in close collaboration with nationally recognized experts and contributes to academic papers.
We are located off campus, in the Offices on Baum, which is easily accessible via public transportation. Leased parking is also available.
Education Required: B.A. If the degree is not in computer science or technical field, additional work experience is required as described below.
Overall Related Experience Level Required: The applicant should be able to demonstrate significant contributions to a non-trivial software project or demonstrate 1-2
years of experience in testing software.
Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position: (1) excellent technical writing capability. (2) proficiency in a scripting or programming language. (3)a good understanding of the principles of computer science
Experience with running automated tests (e.g., jUnit, Python unittest, selenium) and continuous integration systems are desirable.
The Models of Infectious Disease Agent Study (MIDAS) is a research network that has been funded by the National Institutes of Health for the past ten years.

B.A. in computer science, information science or equivalent field or 3-5 years of experience in software quality assurance.
The applicant ideally should have exposure to both manual and automated testing methods. The applicant should be thorough, detail-oriented and have excellent technical writing capability. Automated testing knowledge (e.g., jUnit, Python unittest, selenium) and continuous integration systems are a plus.
The applicant should be able to demonstrate significant contributions to a non-trivial software project or demonstrate previous practical experience in testing software.
