Position
Summary: Work directly with women in recovery and their children in a residential setting.
Required: High school diploma and experience working with individuals in recovery.
Currently: a full-time 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. shift and a casual position are available. Casual openings still require working 8 hour shifts.
Location: the Allentown section of Pittsburgh
Position
Summary: Responsible for all facets of program operation in a 45 bed residential drug and alcohol facility during assigned shifts, working directly with addicted mothers and their children.
Position Qualification:
Required: High school diploma and 2-4 years of relevant experience. For some positions, a Bachelor's degree is required. Some positions must possess valid PA Driver's License. Act 33/34 clearances. Certain positions require health assessment upon hire and every year thereafter. Experience working in Windows XP, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office. Schedule may require working evenings and weekends as needed. Mandatory overtime may be required.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree and/or CAC preferred.
Essential Functions /Accountabilities:
1) Implements and maintains the service's philosophy, principles, and procedures in all facets of performance.
2) Prepares and implements service/treatment/educational plans and goals indicated and/or as directed.
3) Completes timely and accurate documentation.
4) Communicates, collaborates, and meets with staff, families, external agencies, and/or others as necessary to support services to clients and the agency's mission.
5) Develops and maintains a safe therapeutic environment.
6) Supervises clients in daily activities, parenting, personal hygiene, social skills, recreational activities, and problem solving and life skills.
7) Dispenses medication to residents and maintains medication log.
8) Performs initial intakes including orientation of new residents and children to the program.
9) Intervenes directly to identify, prevent, or deal with crisis situations utilizing de-escalation, conflict resolution, individual and group strategies, as well as, passive physical restraint or pursuing residents as necessary.
10) Performs urinalysis testing on residents to ensure abstinence.
11) Performs childcare duties.
12) Takes responsibility for professional development through participation in supervision, staff meetings, and trainings.
13) Maintains safety, security, cleanliness of the unit, vehicle, and equipment and assures proper use of supplies. Conducts fire drills.
14) Operates a motor vehicle to transport clients to appointments.

Working Conditions: Position is situated in a 45-bed inpatient drug and alcohol treatment facility. May require visits to homes, schools, and/or high-risk environments. Exposure to clients with substance abuse, mental illness, and/or communicable diseases may occur. There may be a loud noise level at the facility due to babies' and children's activities.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
