SUPERVISORY PHYSICAL THERAPIST

This position will be responsible for the overall management of the Clinical Support Service and all sections within. This position will have full line authority for the management of the service. The duties of this position require the ability to apply specialized principles and practices of health care management in directing the Outpatient Rehabilitation Department with oversite at all campuses, including the CBOCs-supervising Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Specialty Care Outpatient Rehabilitation programs . This position will be responsible for carrying out cost effective strategic planning initiatives and policies that integrate and operationalize a service delivery structure that supports the clinical mission and goals of managed care and ensures effective patient care and satisfaction consistent with the medical center mission. Non-supervisory duties include:
budget guidance and approval, direction and long-term planning and lastly quality review and productivity. Supervisory duties include:
technical and administrative supervision to medical and professional staff including subordinate supervisors. Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:
30 am to 5:
00 pm.; occasional on-call responsibilities rotationally on weekends and holidays; must maintain 50% administrative duties and 50% clinical work. Financial Disclosure Report:

Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education and experience. The individual must meet at least one of the requirements below:
(1) Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy AND five (5) years of progressively independent experience as a physical therapist. (2) Master's degree in Physical Therapy AND two (2) years of progressively independent experience as a physical therapist. (3) Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. NOTE Prior to 1995 the terminal degree for PT's was either a bachelors or master's degree. In 1995 CAPTE accredited all baccalaureate, master's, and Doctor of Physical Therapy terminal degree programs. Effective 2002, CAPTE changed its scope of accrediting activities of PT education programs to include only those programs that culminate in post-baccalaureate degrees(eliminating the baccalaureate degree). Effective 2015, professional physical therapy education programs have only offered the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree to all new students. (4) Foreign Graduate - full unrestricted and current license to practice PT in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the US, or in D.C. The Foreign Credentialing Commission on Physical Therapy (FCCPT) is a non-profit organization created to assist the United States (U.S.) Citizenship and Immigration Services (formerly INS) and U.S. state licensing authorities by evaluating the credentials of Foreign Educated Physical Therapists (FEPTs) Licensure. Individuals hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice physical therapy in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Physical requirement - pre-employment physical required. English Proficiency required. May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria). Experience:
Licensed Independent Practitioner, holds a direct access license, experience in outpatient orthopedics or holds a specialty certification in orthopedics. Grade Determinations:
GS- 13 Physical Therapist (Supervisory) Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 1. Knowledge of contemporary physical therapy across multiple areas of practice, and the demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to provide clinical guidance to Staff PTs within the department. 2. Knowledge of human resources administration, including such functions as the ability to interview and select qualified applicants, monitor and evaluate performance, and maintain effective labor management relations within scope of responsibility. 3. Ability to effectively supervise, direct, and manage a diverse physical therapy staff. 4. Skill in forging positive interpersonal relationships and conflict resolution. 5. Ability to analyze clinically appropriate data effectively to optimize quality, performance, and productivity within the section. 6. Ability to set priorities, delegate tasks, and solve problems in order to meet multiple deadlines and identify/address organizational problems. 7. Ability to manage advocacy roles and planning activities within the VA and the greater rehabilitation community. References:

The Physical Therapist may engage in the following activities/positions/tasks as defined:
Lifting/carrying up to 30 lbs. intermittently, frequent walking, standing, sitting. Occasional stooping, kneeling, overhead reaching, fine manipulation, pushing, and/or pulling. In addition, occasional operation of a motor vehicle may be indicated.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
